I’m back with another skincare product review! Today is all about the L’oreal paris skin-care product specifically the Pure Clay Detoxifying+Brightening Charcoal Mask, I have recently been using this face mask for sometimes now (about 4 uses) and I certainly think it’s time for me to bare my mind concerning this product.
Disclaimer; This post is not sponsored by any chance, I purchased this product with my own money! So all expressed thoughts are absolutely honestly mine.
So! without further ado, let’s get right into what this product is all about.
PACKAGING AND PRICE, This face mask comes in a very attractive green cut-out box, I give the packaging a cool 4.5/5 rating. The product itself is contained in a little square glass container with the capacity of 50ml and it retails for the amount of 150rph (6$). I purchase this from my local drugstore.
GUARANTEES, The L’oreal paris face mask says to be enriched with black charcoal, which acts as a dirt magnet to draw impurities (like dirt, oil, pollution etc) out. Also, it promises to detoxify the skin surface and work deep into the pores to give the skin a detoxified and brightened appearance in just 10-15minutes after using.
FRAGRANCE, I really disliked the smell of this product! It smells really weird like bucket paint to me. I’ve read and watched reviews where the smell was loved by the reviewer but I guess different people, different smell buds. I’ll give the scent 0.5/5 rating.
CONSISTENCY, It’s a dark colored mask with a moderately thick consistency that glides fairly easily across the face.
HOW I APPLIED, I start on a freshly washed face,Slightly wet. Sometimes I exfoliate my face with my L’oreal paris endless freshness scrub before applying. I then apply a moderate amount with my fingers evenly across my face, avoiding my eyes and lips areas, then leaving it to sit and completely dry for about 15 minutes. Depending on how I feel, I use this product twice or thrice a week.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS, I think this product performed it’s job descriptions because while rinsing the mask out I felt my skin was squeaky clean and deeply cleansed. It also had a cool matifying effect that doesn’t dry out the skin completely which is good for my oily skin (I advise to use a moisturizer afterwards though, as it doesn’t leave any moisturizing effects).
Also my pores were less visible and my skin felt really tightened, soft and brightened after use. Also I noticed the blackheads around my nose area were gone.
I also have a few buts,
- It stings a bit while drying, so if you have a sensitive skin you might want to take notice of this
- And it smells weird, I don’t want to call it a horrible smell but I definitely didn’t fancy it.
- It did break me out! But the breakouts disappeared after a few days. Probably the detoxifying effects, I wouldn’t know!
WORTH THE BUY? Yes! I recommend this product, if you have an oily and dull skin. You should definitely check it out.
RATINGS, 3/5 🏆🏆🏆
