My Morning Skincare Routine

Hello blog fam! Let’s have a little chat about my skincare routine.

So, for quite sometime now I have been searching for the best products for my skin and also developing the best routines consisting of how many times I use a product in a day, the quantity I use etc. for my far from perfect skin. I used to be very nonchalant about my skin, I would just take a shower and that’s it!, well don’t judge. I did use body lotion Ha ha.

But as I grew older, I started to pay more attention to my skin due to the fact that I began to read lots on skin care and benefits of having a regular routine. I decided to develop a skin care plan and be committed to it, well my skin loves me more now for that.

This is why I will like to share with you guys, my morning and night skincare routine. Don’t worry though, I will be brief! But if I’m not, forgive me😁

How do I go about it, what are my steps, what works for me? Though I still don’t have the perfect skin (I don’t think anyone does! Thank you face tune ha ha) but I’m proud and happy with the status of my skin right now. This motivates me to even want to try more products and develop new routines for my skin.

1. TAKE A SHOWER + FACE CLEANSING:

Every morning, I take my shower first before I begin any skincare procedure. During my shower I do a little bit of my routine to save my time. So I wash my face thoroughly first with my AFRICAN UNREFINED BLACK SOAP, then Afterwards I cleanse with my NEUTROGENA PINK GRAPE FACIAL CLEANSER ( check out my previous post for my review on this product).

2. SCRUB MY FACE:

After cleansing, I then gently scrub my face with my NEUTROGENA PINK GRAPEFRUIT FACIAL SCRUB and all these is still happening in the shower ha ha, thereby taking me about 10-15minutes to round up my morning bathe 😅.

3. APPLY FACIAL LOTION:

Afterwards, I gently swipe my face with a liquid facial lotion, that helps remove any extra dirt still remaining on my already cleansed skin. I use THE CLEAN & CLEAR BLACK SPOTS LOTION most times and sometimes I use THE GARNIER PURE ACTIVE PORE PURIFYING LOTION. Both lotions are pretty good enough.

4. MOISTURIZE:

After swiping off all lingering dirts. I go ahead to moisturize my face, normally in the summer months I skip this step just because moisturizers make me greasy and sweaty. But in the colder months, I get too dry without moisturizers. So now I use THE ZIAJA CUCUMBER FACE CREAM (for oily skin) or THE ZIAJA CHAMOMILE FACE CREAM (for all skin-types). They both leave my skin very moisturized and soft.

After these four steps, I kiss myself goodluck and I go about my day. With my trusty Nivea lipbalm in my bag to prevent crusty lips.

I will be writing on my nightly skincare routine next! So stay tuned! I Love you!

  1. Beautiful. I used to have a smooth face and didn’t bother much. For the past year now I have had major acne breakout and I am developing a regimen finally. It’s not so easy dealing with breakouts, didn’t know that much. Great luck on your journey
